ELAC / DELAC

The English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)’s purpose is to advise and provide input on issues pertaining to English Learners (ELs) and the school’s formal plans. It is also a great way to foster a better involvement so that working together, parents and staff can increase the academic achievement of our EL population.

Heartland Charter School will establish and maintain a District English Language Advisory Committee, or DELAC, when the EL population of the school is 51 or more students. The DELAC will be one and the same as the ELAC because the Heartland Charter School is a single-school district/LEA (local education agency) and does not have multiple school sites.

For questions about ELAC/DELAC, please contact Kate Rowe, Deputy Executive Director, at kate.rowe@heartlandcharterschool.com.
